Okay, today I decided to give the GPS on my brand new (2 days) AWS4. So, I went to a park here locally, that I have done many walks around, and started my walk. After walking about 1/4 mile, I noticed that they were filming a movie, and I decided to take a picture. A guy walked up and said "Sorry, no pictures, closed set". Okay, well, this became a challenge.. (G), and I walked a little farther, and sat down to assess the situation. Seeing "guards" posted all over the place, I decided to give up, and continued on my walk. Quite some time later, I noticed that the watch/app (WalkOutdoors) was not recording, so I sat down on a bench, stopped that activity, and started a second one, using the same app, but this time, turning off Bluetooth on my phone to force the GPS on the watch to track the route. That one was fine.
I'm posting two screenshots of the track, the first one is the one that went bonkers, (Phone's BT was on, and apparently, the watch/app was using the phone's GPS), the second one is actually where the first walk ended, and I did not do the straight line away from the walkway as the GPS track shows.

Question is, is it possible that the "Closed set" movie situation killed the GPS/Bluetooth on my phone to keep intruders away? I know there are devices that can kill cell phone use, but am not aware of anything that would cause this.

Oh, and I did get a picture... :)

Post the picture!

I knew they had them for cell phones, (actually considered buying one for those clowns that sit through a green light, and look up just as the light turns yellow and guns their car!), but I can't for the life of me figure out what happened. The timer on the WorkOutdoors app, continued, continued to track heart rate, and actually, when I export the file to Garmin Connect, the heart rate looks fine for the entire 19 minutes. Just the GPS track is messed up. And, as I walked almost in the same spot, on the "return" track, nothing happened to the watch GPS. I guess I'll have to try again, and see if the phone's GPS is messed up, or if it was one of those "space anolomy" things... :)

Anyone famous!?!

Oh - and I have no idea what made your GPS/Bluetooth go bonkers :)

No, usually when they're shooting a movie in Liberty Park, it's BYU shooting some religious thing. They used to shoot "Touched by an Angel" all over town, but that was a while ago. I couldn't get close enough to see if there was anyone I'd recognize though.
