Why is it so often that quotation marks get messed up in emails? For example, a Mac user wrote this to me today:

"latest"

and it came up on my machine like this:

„latest‰

She's using Tiger and I'm on Leopard. Both of us are using Entourage. We've experimented with various encoding options, but nothing seems to help. Any ideas?

usually those things are font substitution problems, missing ligatures etc.
