iPod What happened to the apps?

I have an iPod Nano 6th Gen, and I have had it for a few years. However, this morning, my voice memos app disappeared off my homescreen. I turned it on using settings, but it still won't appear on my home screen. TL;DR: Voice memos and ebooks disappeared. Can't get them back. please help!

From my experience, the voice memos 'app' only appears when headphones with a mic are plugged in. Have you tried resetting the iPod? (Hold down the lock and volume buttons)

Yeah, those two icons disappear if you don't have anything in them, says it in the manual.

Through iTunes. If you have them make sure they're even syncing to the iPod. It would be under Settings on the iPod's tab.
