What happened to the background

As the title mention when I'm in exposé view or whatever it's called my background (andromeda) disappears.

Has anyone else seen this?

On what exact hardware and what exact Mac OS X version does that happen? Did a restart fix it?

10.8.2 On high end 2012 macbook pro. A restart will probably fix it.

Edit A reboot did not resolve the issue.
