What happened to the calculator widget?

I am one of the few that used the calculator widget which was an advantage verses launching the calculator app and in Big Sur the widget is gone. How do I get it back?

It seems all prior 3rd party Today View widgets are obsoleted by this new widget feature in Big Sur. I used to have a widget by the Quick Note app, but am unable to add it back now.

The latest PCalc update no longer has a widget (control center), but DOES have a nice menu bar icon which is great for accessing the calculator quickly. You can also configure it to RPN mode, which I prefer. Worth a look.

This is why I always use third-party replacements instead of using the built-ins. Especially given what happened to Dashboard.

right, and that's no longer an option. am not sure what you want, but i suggested things you can actually do, to get to a calculator. if that's not good enough, you could try this:

I have a 2020 MacBook Pro it takes less than a second to open calculator.

you could just keep the calculator app open & minimized, & you could access it from the dock... in less than a second.

True but I still miss the widget. I also miss dashboard but thats not coming back.

This. It’s faster than doing the widget way for simple calculation. Did you know this OP? Worked on iOS too.

right, but if the widget option isn't there... you have to adapt. and yes, spotlight is the fastest, simplest access to calculator functions!
