I am one of the few that used the calculator widget which was an advantage verses launching the calculator app and in Big Sur the widget is gone. How do I get it back?

Is there no way to add widgets from 3rd parties? I miss the calculator widget and it's only been a few hours......

It seems all prior 3rd party Today View widgets are obsoleted by this new widget feature in Big Sur. I used to have a widget by the Quick Note app, but am unable to add it back now.

The latest PCalc update no longer has a widget (control center), but DOES have a nice menu bar icon which is great for accessing the calculator quickly. You can also configure it to RPN mode, which I prefer. Worth a look.

This is why I always use third-party replacements instead of using the built-ins. Especially given what happened to Dashboard.

open the calculator app. with spotlight, or in your dock, or with launchpad, or an alias on the desktop, or........

really easy.
With Big Sur, I am already doing that. However, it’s one more icon on my dock, and I appreciated the convenience of having it in the widgets area.

right, but if the widget option isn't there... you have to adapt. and yes, spotlight is the fastest, simplest access to calculator functions!
