What happened to the "Erase Free Space" feature in Disk Utility?

Not all functions of Disk Utility are available with DP 1.

Shucks. Oh well. I've seen other apps that are supposed to be able to do it, but the one I tried wouldn't launch on El Capitan.

Disk Utility is just a GUI for the diskutil command-line program.

All the options that were removed from Disk Utility are still available through diskutil.
