Am I the only person who preferred the old iPad design over the iPad 2?!
I will at this point declare that I am yet to see firsthand the iPad 2 as I live in Germany, but from what I have seen in many pics/vids it just doesn't do it for me. I realize with the old design it couldn't rest flat on a table etc but to me these curved sides look a bit budget. The flat aluminum edges were so nice though!!

I may change my mind when it arrives on the 25th!!

Trust me. When you get the iPad 2 you will be happy.
I thought the same thing till I got mine. I have both over here to compare and like the 2 better now.

Count me in on those who like the iPad 1's design.

This should have been a poll ;)

I like the first design in the same way I like the first iphone's design, but if the seconds weight reduction and thinness couldn't be accomplished with the first design then I prefer the second.

Well said, the thinness is MAJOR ergonomic and visual improvement. It FAR out weights the new edges. Also by removing the edges it is actually a little smaller.

Added a poll as suggested but after reading think that the overwhelming reply will be that people are fans of the new design. I'm not sold yet, kind of looks like my old iPod Touch...... although will have to wait and see!

Have a brand spanking new Apple store opening in the city I live in on March 31st so will go and have a play and decide then!

The new design is ugly to say the least.

The old one was much more well-thought out.

I like the design of the 2nd one much better, it feels better to hold and is less heavy. Actually, between the new cameras, the faster processor, and the new design, I like the new design the most.

I honestly think the iPad 2 is approaching too thin of a device, I like to have a decent amount to hold on to. The iPad 1 is the perfect size for me, thinness wise.

Just my two cents.

The thin (silver) edge on my iPad 2 very soft. I have already put 2 minor nicks from placing in backpack. Using new apple cover but still manage to occur. Thinner is softer??
