My MBP has been having some strange issues lately, so I've pulled the plug on Folding to see if that helps stabilize the system. That'll drop me out of the top 10 pretty quickly, what with all there crazy numbers some of you guys are posting. Ought to drop my PPD to about 1,400 or so.

(Folding as powermac666, ranked #9 on Team 3446)

i don't blame you there. i've had to do the same on some of my systems as well

I am liking this upward trend we have going right now. We need to keep that up. We need major releases of folding clients to be posted on atleast page 2 if not page one to get some interest.

yeah i am as well, though it looks like we will get passed pretty soon though.

yes that would spark a lot of interest. but i doubt it will happen

I'll bring my systems back online 24/7. I kinda got tires of the locked up core on my macs so I fold only on my pc laptop during the day.

just do what you can

I tried last weekend to get started again on my MBP. I use the InCrease client, and that thing just sat there, refused to clear out old stuff and get a new unit. I am having difficulty even reinstalling it and having it start from scratch.

What do you guys use?

To become a relevant team, we need to reach 250k units per day, almost double the current rate. We need 70 more iMacs/MacBooks or 5 8-core systems.

We moved up a rank today some how. As well the number of active users is increasing. I kind of think us talking about it here seems to be helping! I might just set my signature back to something about folding tomorrow at some point.

it looks to me that we are still ranked 59. and the next group is about to pass us!

but yes, talking about it more here helps out quite a bit. the more we interact here, the better

We lost our spot again. We passed Team Lithuania for a brief time as yesterday was a big day for us and a bad one for them.

oh ok. well we are now #60. so someone else must have passed us as well. looks like we're safe there for a couple months at least

We are only just a little bit slower than Lithuania we could retake them if we had a few more ppd. China is another story, that would take quite a bit higher ppd to get back in front of them, the longer they are in front of us the farther back we get :(

18k PPD is pretty impressive. . . . if you run it in windows you could use the vid card too, probably pull close to 25k. I would love to see Pande Group put out a GPU client for mac OS X.... I'm getting sick of running windows 90% of the time on my Mac Pro.

With all of my machines (8) I am pulling 25k ppd. The '09 mac pro 2x2.66 is doing 4-5 min per frame for normal units - I'm afraid to change anything right now so I don't lose momentum.

I know with 2 Nvidia gtx 260's the Nvidia gtx 120 on the mac pro and other tweaking I could do a lot better but I'm reluctant to touch anything right now.

I wonder if I could get the GPU client running on my mac via darwine. Some people pulled it off with linux.

You should be able to pull 20k ppd with that machine only with the bigadv units...
