I was reading the MacRumors FAQ (for the first time I think ) and saw that contributors have access to private forums. So, what happens here?
wild naked men and women, free Apple Computers for testing, weekend getaways with the MR member of your choice, and we already have the iPhone! Contribute, it's for the good of the community!
WOW. Never though it was that kind of a secret. This reminds me of Matrix. Maybe we are controlled by Demi-Gods, and we all live in an unreal life.
Well you are getting close. I'll get it when I have some extra money that I don't know what to do with.
you convinced me; it's for the good of the community. but if there aren't any of the freebies you mentioned, i'll come looking for you.
Shameless attempt to recruit another cool demi You? Pah! You're not nearly manly enough to ever get to 5,000 posts.
I heard that if you try and post in the Private Forums with a Windows PC, it explodes! It was a funnier in my mind. Also, If you become a demi-god, are you instantly allowed to have an avatar, or do you still need 500 posts? Based on my average posts per day (0.66), its gonna take me 317 days to get one.
The 500 posts thing still applies. There are some demis who mostly lurk and don't have avatars, but you won't see them often because they usually lurk
I'm going to close this thread since, by definition, the private forum is private, and since I think the answer has been provided: The private forum lets the paid members have their own discussions among that smaller community. As in the public forums, the choices of discussion topics are up to the members and vary over time. Although some may consider access to a private forum, removal of most ads, and special user titles to be worth the price of paid membership, the primary reason to join is to support the site. That helps us continue to offer free public access to news, rumors, discussion forums, Guides, and our related websites like MacBytes and DailyTunes. We appreciate both our paid members and those who support the site just by visiting, participating in discussions, letting others know about MacRumors, and of course patronizing our advertising sponsors. If you have further questions not answered by the FAQ, you are always welcome to ask a moderator or use our Contact form.
