New one is out in June....

I don't want a paperweight on my hands when I get the new iPhone, so what to do with my current 3G?

Is there going to be any market for that phone? If it is not unlockable, nobody on TMobile will buy it. (That is what I did with my EDGE iPhone when the 3G came out- I unlocked it and sold it to a Tmobile person)

Probably won't get the new iphone when ever it might come out... pretty happy with my 3G. The new software will be enough for me. Plus not to long ago I had to replace my 3G because of water damage....

The 3G is unlockable, but it cannot use the 3G on T-Mo. However, you could certainly sell it to someone on at&t who doesn't want a contract.

Didn't you think of that when you bought it? All 'phones become obsolete/overtaken by new models. What's more, why are have you already decided on buying the "New" model before you even know the specs? ;)

It's a cascade effect, The iPhone orginal that my wife has goes on ebay, she get's my 3G and I get the new one.

There's no contract on iPhones anymore in the States.

I have no one to give my 3G to, guess I'll have to keep it. ;) I hope it doesn't spontaneously combust the day the new iPhone is introduced.

What's with so many people on these boards stiffing their wives with the hand-me-downs? If I was a wife, I'd be like, "tough luck, buddy! You been totin' the newest model in front of me for a year - now it's MY turn!"

Ha :) If she cared more about gadgets I am sure she would, but then again it evens out. I am guessing less than 10% of our 4000 sq ft of living space has my design preferences in it. She get's the other 90%

I will probably give my iPhone 3G to one of my friends to use as an iPod Touch just like I gave someone my iPod Touch when I got my iPhone 3G.

brother broke his phone right before the 3g launch. first gen went to him, and i got the 3g. i figure the same thing will happen this summer.

when my contract ends next year in august i will keep it than i can use a gen 4 iphone and a a gen 2 iphone i can gen skip 3 hope there is no oled in gen 3 fingers crossed
