why has this color so quickly fallen out of favor??? Apple has abandoned it!
Colors come and go with iPhone. Remember that amazing Jet Black iPhone 7? It was awesome.

They usually have some kind of black/space grey and a white/silver and then one bonus color. Depending on the release, the marquee color is one of the three.

The Jet Black was my favorite phone for both color and size. I finally let it go this year to one of my daughters that was in need of a “free” phone. I upgraded to the “Space Gray” Xs.

I wouldn’t call it gold. To me it’s a pinky gold but not really rose gold if that makes sense. My gold ss watch looks more rose gold to me than gold also.

The new gold is more rose gold (coppery gold) than the original rose gold was. Whats confusing here is the naming scheme. The Apple Watch Series 3 removed Rose Gold, but the new gold was coppery gold and not yellow gold which is what people really expect when you name something just "gold". Now we have the same with the Apple Watch Series 4 and the new iPhone Xs and Xs Max. Gold is not yellow gold, its coppery gold.

I don't mind it, I dislike yellow gold and I like coppery gold but the naming is rather confusing as the colour is not what I would expect from something called "gold". The reason why its not named Rose Gold is probably because Apple had Rose Gold in the past which was more like pink gold and not rose gold which is more coppery gold. The new gold is more like rose gold, but its not named rose gold.. Its a tad bit too dark to be rose gold, but it for sure is not regular / yellow gold.

I actually like the Rosegold when they offered it for the iPhone 7, but as someone else mentioned, Apple is never consistent with their color patterns for how long they offer it and for what devices. Jet black Being an example not offered for new colors in the latest iPhones.

my only reason to think why jet black didn't last long was the fact it scuffed very easily due to the fragile nature... hence why apple dropped it (?)
