What HDMI adapter should I buy?

LOL! I just went and checked it out again!
Knew I should have ordered 2! Hopefully mine has turned up today or will tomorrow! Bet a lot of lurkers ordered it too and with all of our query emails the seller cottoned on.
Still, AFAIK it's the only UK available HDMI adapter that definately supports audio as well as picture and until that changes they will keep their prices up! :rolleyes:

theres still another listing for 8 pounds.. Anyone know if they ship to EU?
Im in denmark, and I have no way to buy one that carries both video and audio..

That price increase is just ridiculous! :eek:

Their other listing still shows more than 10 available at the £4.85 + £2.95 P&P.

The picture on this listing looks exactly how mine came packaged so I would guess is the same adapter. It might be worth a punt to anyone who misses out on the other one.

Also, most of the listings that say 'From Hong Kong' look exactly the same adapter too.

Can I clarify — which Macbook/MacBook Pro have you got?

Will older (2008/2009) models support audio output over Mini DisplayPort? Or is it just the newer models. This: “Will transfer Audio as well as Video if yourtelevision supports this facility.” makes no mention of the Mini Displayport needing to be capable of outputting audio.

As far as I know, Apple has only advertised this capability on the very latest models.
 
Just wanted to report:

The OtherWorldComputing (NewerTechnology brand) Mini Displayport to HDMI adapter works PERFECTLY with my brand new April 2010 13" MBP.

My adapter just came in today and it's working both video and audio directly to HDMI. I have a Sharp Aquos TV and even VLC is playing fine.

Link is below. The adapter costs $19 and it looks almost like an Apple product with clean white lines.
