I don’t wear my AirPods as a fashion or status symbol - actually I’m not a fan of the aesthetics at all. They look like Q Tips. So far they are the tw buds that best serve me for phone, work and exercise. Ymmv. I think that it’s a matter of preference and comfort.

I am sure some people find these comfortable but personally they are not great for exercising.

I don’t think there is anything wrong with wearing clothing or accessories as a fashion statement or status symbol it’s pretty common.

All I am saying at the gym if you go in hard and sweating you just end up damaging the headphones. Not everyone goes hard at the gym and maybe that’s why it suits them.

I've used this this version of the Bose Soundsport headphones since March of 2017, until the right earbud started falling apart a couple weeks ago. *shrugs* I took good care of them. I called Bose about it and they've sent me a new replacement, which will arrive tomorrow. In the meantime, I've been wearing the Airpods with these tips.

What I find odd about AirPods for the gym is that in such a place, music is playing, people are talking. I don't want to be distracted by anything. I would never use something that leaks in ambient noise in this environment. But I guess it doesn't bother others. I understand the runners that use them outside and want to hear their surroundings. But not for a closed gym environment.

My exercise is running. I use AirBudz for a good fit and find that they work flawlessly with my watch for my short 3 or 5 mile runs. Also, I'm not sweaty near my ears when I run in moderate weather. Hoping the mfr. will honor my warranty request on my Jabra elite 65t buds for sweatier summer runs.

Exactly. There’s always music blasting out at my gym, the AirPods isolate nothing, the only way to hear anything would be to whack up the volume, which is really bad for your ears. Even then, what you’re hearing will sound garbage.

I love AirPods, but for specific purposes and in quiet environments.

I’ve being using Powerbeats 3 for years at gym, never had a problem with them. Will be getting the Powerbeats Pro definitely.

Same here. Rock solid connection to both my AW (which I play music from) and iPhone. So hyped for the Pro's.

Same headphones I use for casual listening, air travel, and commuting... The Jabra elite 65t... best truly wireless headphones on the market imo (And I tried a bunch) For me the Jabra's check off your list of 5 and then some.

I have two go-tos for different situations.

When I'm lifting alone, I wear my Avantree Joggers. They're waterproof, extremely light, wrap around the back of the head/neck and have controls for play/pause, forward/back skip and volume. You could run parkour or do a floor routine and these things wouldn't move. The battery life is impressive for the price too. I charge them once a month and lift 3-5 times per week for at least an hour.

When I'm lifting with someone I'll use my AirPods and wear just the one. Even with the silicone add-ons they're just not that stable or comfortable.

Jabra released 3 headphones 2 of which maybe great competition to the AirPods Pro’s

Jabra Elite 7 Pro
Jabra Elite 7 Active
The latter features some sweat resistant coating to prevent slipping or falling out & touch sensors,

the Elite 7 Pro’s feature bone conduction and beam forming mic’s. Each have 9hrs use, and 32hrs with charging case and rapid charging.

along with the Jabra 3’s also announced and available last week ALL have BT 5.2 and FINALLY work independently and multi-point connection and 20% smaller than previous models which I’m very happy about. 7 Pro’s and 7 Active’s seem to be more discreet in design and shape.

I love my AirPods Pro yet I can’t stand the glaring white only option! It doesn’t need Apple branding cause the entire colour is a brand which I dislike.

Im glad I didn’t pay $429 CAN for the latest Sony MX-4’s in ear models. If these Jabra’s can compare not only in music playback quality but also very close to cal quality (hearing other callers as well as our voice over the call) to the AirPods well at least I’ll have a headphone that’ll work with my work laptop while in the office between desks helping out others.

EDIT: the Jabra Elite 3’s do NOT support multipoint connection.

I use AirPods Pro 2.0 with Comply Tips. I normally wear in one ear when in the gym and while cycling (on the non-traffic side). ComplyTips prevent the AirPod from falling out from wind on 50mph descents or by sweat at the gym.
