What if Google kept it's apps and services exclusive like Apple?
This is amusing. I'll give it up for being unique. I've never heard/read someone referring to Apple deserving some evil karma payback because you love..Google??
Do yourself and search google and NSA or Prism. they're in bed with the Feds and turning a blind eye to basic rights to privacy. This is fact. Additionally the search results up front are a joke- the 'search' giant is essentially a link to the major e-tailers. You ever searched for a retail item and not had amazon pop up in top 2 results? Do yourself a favor and search 'payday loans' on Google and then a browser that doesn't pimp out all your information, scan your emails etc. Let me know how that turns out. Also kinda weird because the Google services you mentioned could be argued kinda suck and can't be argued not particularly important or good. Lol great analogy about the map app. Google rules! They have a cool map. Be honest, you don't know how to use a Mac, right?

Hey you know android is an OS and iOS/apple is hardware, right? You should throw up some charts comparing windows to dell computer sales. Lol this guy is awesome. Who goes on a Mac forum to pledge his love of friggin Google? Why not just say- 'I don't understand os x'. Ha, goofy

essentially will never happen, Google does not ever want to do this, they need every single person and customer they can get for ad targeting, Google pays Apple alone $1 billion a year just to be the default search engine in iOS on Safari, why would Google ever throw away hundreds of millions of customers from iOS land by stripping their apps and ecosystem exclusive to Android only?
You are missing the whole point of my thread. It's not about if they would or not. It's about what effect it would have on Google and Apple.
iOS users that don't use Google's apps wouldn't care. The few that do use Google apps on iOS might care a little, but would quickly replace the Google apps they use with something that Apple or other 3rd party developers offer. Current Android users would lose nothing.
How about this...
Google's app (developed by Google) portfolio seems to dwarf Apple's (developed BY Apple)...what would Apple have to offer to Android if they changed their mind and made iOS apps available in the Play Store? Safari or FaceTime for android sounds nice, but there are already multiple browsers and multiple apps that can do video chat...

Define what "in bed" means. By "in bed" do you actually mean "had their fibre interconnects illegally tapped into and data decrypted" or "were legally compelled to by a secret warrant from a secret FISA court"?
Then explain and provide sources for the rest of your statement.
Firstly, assuming the web usage stats are not skewed (I believe they are), it is obviously because of the high penetration Android has in parts of the world other than Western Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand, the Four Asian Tigers and Japan. In these parts of the world (Eg India), reliable and fast internet (broadband or mobile) is either relatively very expensive or not available at all.
And exactly what is a fact? I bet you you won't link a proof about those "facts"

Google would not do this and should not do this. They want people using their services regardless of the platform. I use all Google apps on my iPhone 6+. Makes it easier to switch to my nexus 6 when I want to switch phones. I use google hangouts to make all my calls because I have unlimited data. I never give out my actual att cell number so if I switch providers I don't have to worry about porting my number or giving out a new number. As a matter of fact I think Google should add two more apps to the mix. Google calendar which is actually coming soon. They should also add a google contacts app that gives you access to Google groups. The contacts app should also open all links and handlers in Google apps (ie telephone numbers should open in hangouts, addresses should open in Google maps, text messages should open in Google voice or Google hangouts, urls should open in chrome, video calls in hangouts, emails in gmail or inbox, birthdays and dates in Google calendar, and share contacts as vcf files via Google voice or Google hangouts).
This would make switching between the iPhone and Android seamless. I prefer using my iPhone over Android but I also prefer using google services over Apple exclusives.
