Just want to be make sure, my friend knows little about computers but I want to activate her ipad (user name, etc) on my laptop and add a couple songs i have (songs that were ripped from CD, not purchased songs). Will she have trouble if connects her laptop to HER computer at home? I noticed when i bought a used ipod touch it would delete all the info on the touch and start over. is this the same for the ipad?

Shouldn't be a problem, they do that a lot at the Apple Store. And yes she may have some Sync issues and possibly lose those songs you gave her. Question, why can't you just have her Activate it herself on her own computer.

She will lose anything you sync to the device when she does her own sync, unless you register your account on her iTunes before she syncs. Easier to just transfer the ripped songs to her iTunes library. To avoid any sync issues put your iTunes into the activation only mode before activating her iPad
