Hey everyone^^

I really like the design of the new MacBook Pro! I really do! In fact I just ordered one^^ The only thing that annoys me a bit is this black part or stripe behind the keyboard AND on the back side. Is this the latch? So if you close your notebook everything will be silber exept for the black latch on the back -.- oh well...

But look how it could've been if they made it in silver all the way^^

The new design doesn't look much different from my MBP which I purchased last month. My sales rep said he would switch it out for a new one, but I decided to keep my MBP. The only advantage I see in getting the new MBP is the enclosed touchpad. I'm worried about dirt and dust getting under my open touchpad. That was a major complaint from college kids who used their MBPs to catch crumbs.

I think that looks even better than the current MBP. But Apple wants to differentiate the old from the new, so we get black.

If Apple ever wants to make inroads into the corporate world, they need to get their head out of their ass.

They had the idea BEFORE Steve came to town.

Then they released orange, blue, and green laptops. The TiBook looked ok but it still was not built in the corporate image.

Apple finally showed signs of returning to a more "conservative" form factor with the high end MacBook.

Now they have a 2 tone scheme. I had to buy a Lenovo to supplement my MacBook Pro in meeting/presentations.

Try and take a guess at what I am getting at.

Oh this would be great wouldn't it? xD
They could make it as a colorscheme option just like they did an option for matte screens with the classic MBP.. the rest of the MB itself stays the same:D

If Apple wants to take over the corporate world they are going to have to slap Windows stickers on the palmrest. There are multiple criteria that corporations consider before rolling out new hardware. The color of the case isn't even in the top 5.

Since this thread is about cosmetics - with the exception of the keyboard, that is why it was the main focus of my argument.

If you want to get down to it, pre Jobs PowerBooks had several things that are also important including expansion bays allowing for extra HD, Zip Drive, CD-Rom, dual battery, ect.....

Jobs has smeared the line between its pro line and its consumer line.

Yesterdays Apple with todays marketing and the support of iPhone/iPod revenue would KILL in the marketplace.

I like that all silver design way better than the Black keys and bezel.

But I still have at least two years of life out of my current MBP, so who knows what they will look like when I do decide to get another one.

I agree. the back strip that is above the keyboard if it was not black. It would be better

Have you tried the new pad? It honestly feels like there is still a button there to me.

I haven't tried it actually, I'm just talking out my rear.

How does the new trackpad work? Is the entire thing one physical button? I thought they just did away with the button entirely and forced you to use "tap to click".

impressive, i would buy that in a heartbeat if apple released a macbook pro like that. :)

The whole trackpad is a button now and for me (never having owned a mac before now) it works exceptionally well. For all the nice features on this laptop, the trackpad might be my favorite which is kind of scary.

And to keep the thread on track, your rendering is better looking than the current model, but I don't feel the black makes it look cheap. I just think it makes it look like other laptops instead of the clean Apple look they used to have.

I have looked at the pictures of the updated MacBook Air and love the silver bezel around the display. I even prefer the silver keyboard of the previous version MBP.

That's pretty much what the old one looked like. If you like the monochromatic look then go buy a refurbished previous generation macbook pro.

I really couldn't disagree more. I think its just because the previous design was used for so long, that the new design is hard for some people to get used to. There is nothing cheap looking about glass and laser-cut aluminum.

I said the black makes the machines look cheap, not the glass or the laser cut aluminum. My all silver 17" MBP is a right sexy looking machine. The new MBPs w/black keys contrasted against the silver case looks like an experiment gone wrong. Like they mated a cheap laptop with a sexy MBP and produced an average looking runt. :)

Lovely design!

I'm not a fan of keyboard and bezel either, however it a working on me (as the new Nanos have).

I'm not sure whether I would go "OldBook Pro" (lol) or the GlassBook Pro if I was paying that much. Hmm....

Your design however....bring on the GlassBook! In a matte screen?...
