squaretrade any others? I do not have home insurance as I am not in a home so that's not an option.

I don't have homeowners insurance either but have a policy through State Farm called a Personal Articles Policy. Cost about $36/year, no deductible, covered for ANY reason.

Can anyone buy it? They have no option to buy online but how much would it cost?

I need to look into this too since my old iPhone got ripped off a few weeks ago. I also just bought a new MBP and iPad so if I can get insurance for all three that covers theft then I'll be interested.

wait, home insurance would cover an iphone if it was to break (accidental/other damage)?

Not sure. I have a car policy with them but it doesn't hurt to call your local State Farm office or your own car insurance company and see if they offer something similar.

I went with Mobileprotect by Assurion for $12 a month. Most people will complain about the price, but I won't as it covers everything I need it to in case anything does happen to my phone. Different strokes for different folks.

"Good Morning! The Mac would be $30 per year with 0 deductible. We do not offer coverage for I Phones. Thank you."

From a rep. I thought you can get iphones covered?

Most would but homeowners policies typically have fairly high deductibles ($250 or more) so it doesn't make much sense to file a claim.

State Farm's Personal Articles policy is separate from your general Homeowner's policy. It does NOT have a deductible, however I was told a couple of years ago that you could not cover your phone on it. But maybe that has changed? I have a bunch of camera equipment covered, but I would love to add my iPhone, so I'll have to check into this.

Oh. I don't owe a home so I could not get homeowner's policy.

I just bought the Square Trade insurance last night. Someone posted a coupon code so it was only $80 and some change for 2 years of coverage!!! Now THAT is a freaking deal

I use the warranty from my Amex card. It doubles the standard Apple warranty and covers the phone fully. Tried once on a dell monitor. They sent me a check for what I spent on the monitor and didn't even want me to send the broken one to them.

except the apple warranty does not cover accidental damage...

Squaretrade is probably the best deal, but I went with Best Buy's coverage for right now. It's $15/mo but there's no deductible, you can cancel at any time, and I really only need 1 year of protection because I'll be upgrading again in a year anyway. No fuss, just take it to the store if something happens and it covers drops and spills too. Yeah, I know it's more expensive, but I did it in the heat of the moment after finding out about all these hardware problems before picking up my phone! ;-)

Just ordered my squaretrade using the SLICKPHONE4 code. $84 for 2 yrs and covers accidental damage. Well worth it!

Don't forget that you can refer your friends to squaretrade and get $5 each.

Don't forget that if you have a squaretrade warranty on a phone that you are getting rid of you can get a prorated amount back.

I got my warranty yesterday using the 35% off deal.

Does that squaretrade ins. cover lost or stolen phones or is it just accidental damage?
