So this isn't a question about the selection of iOS apps available, or how well they run.

What I'm trying to figure out, is what apps are better than just visiting the site? I've read the argument that streaming apps allow offline downloads whereas the sites themselves don't.

So I'm wondering if there are any other apps out there that have iOS exclusive features, or are just an overall better option than the native version.

For reference, I enjoy using the iOS reddit app, but I still prefer the site (old version) when browsing on a laptop/desktop.

Is this feature just not for me?

Not all apps are packaged versions of website. Some provide real functionality. I run this one to help with focus.

Not too much. I use the MLB app, Overcast (podcast player), and Channels (over the air TV).

Apple basically reduced this feature to a fancy add on for developers (spoiler alert: simulator performance is still not great on M1 chip). So I don’t really bother running iOS apps on M1 Mac anymore. Plus, none of the iOS apps in my library can be downloaded or “sideloaded” so this feature is even less useful.
