Normally?

Well the 128gb has only been offered for one version, so you can't really "normally" get it. Anyway aside from that, I guess I could say I normally get the highest memory possible since I fill mine up pretty quickly. I have a 2 and 3 64GB, I might get a 5 if it's a big improvement, or I'll wait. Either way I'd get the max memory even though it's way over priced.

My 2 had the 3G which I NEVER used, so I didn't get it for my 3, but then Apple doesn't put GPS in it. So you have to pay an extra $120 just to get GPS. Lame again from Apple.

Mine is a 16Gb. I always have 1–3 Gig free, but it's sort of uncomfortable psychologically. My next iPad is gonna be no less than 32Gb.

The more you get the cheaper the memory gets. Why pay 100 bucks for 16 extra gb when 400 gets you an extra 112 gb?

That's 6.25 dollars per extra GB with the 32 gb model and 2.67 dollars per extra GB with the 128 gb model.

Why pay more for less? Unless you can't afford it, or justify the overall expense.

So I picked up my 32GB Mini LTE today. I have got to say....

I wonder what took me so long to buy one!

The apps that are made for iPad are freakin amazing. I had no idea what I was missing on my local news channels app. I use their app on my iPhone and the app pales in comparison to the iPad app and the android app on my Nexus 7 is crap next to this.

I'll be leaving the Nexus 7 at home.

I have a iPad 3 wifi+3g/4g with 32GB. The main reason I am considering an update when the 5 comes out is to get more memory. I will probably max it out next time around. I am always bumping up against the 32GB and know I can use the extra space.

I have a 16gb wifi iPad 3, it's fine for most stuff, but I have to really limit what apps I install and I'm always running out of space. Next time around I'll get a 32 or 64 GB.

Now that Apple has released a 128gb iPad, I think this fall/winter I'll be making the firm decision whether or not I want to ditch a laptop completely (I haven't had one in years, but have been wanting to get a MBA).....

Currently I rock a 32gb LTE iPad mini and love the form factor. However I really wish I had more space so I could load some movies on there without having to shuffle things around to make space. I do game on my iPad and with games like Fifa 13 and KOTOR being over 1 GB, I tend to fill up my iPad quickly.

That being said, if Apple really does slim down the iPad 5 and makes it lighter, I might be tempted to switch back to the regular size even if the mini 2 gets Retina.....

And if Apple moves the regular sized iPads to a 32-64-128 GB lineup at the same $499-$599-$699, then it'll be a 128gb LTE version in my future FOR SURE.

And before anyone says it won't ever happen, I'd bet its more likely than you think. Aside from screen size and processor speed, there won't be much of a differentiator between the mini 2 and iPad 5. Which do you think Apple would rather you buy? Even if they increase the storage space in the iPad 5, I think the margins would still be better on the 5 than on the mini 2....especially if they get a retina display in there......

That would make for a much harder decision IMO, and could give both devices a lot of pull and appeal depending on your preferences.

I get by just fine with 16GB on mine. Of course, I'm not a big media hoarder so I'm sure that makes a big difference.

Not true. This only applies to graphically complex apps like games. Better graphics = bigger graphic assets. If by memory you mean app size and not RAM (which is the de facto), apps are changing all the time (increasing and decreasing). For apps that aren't graphical (like games), adding new features equates to a very small increase in app size. I'm a mobile app developer (iOS and Android) so I have first hand experience in this area. Most of the stuff I work on try to decrease app size and memory usage while improving performance.

Very interesting information. I was basing my philosophy on computer programs - obviously erroneous. Appreciate your clarification. Thanks!

Black 16gb Wi-Fi only.

Black because when i got my iPad, i had a white iPhone.

16gb because that's plenty of storage for me.

Wi-Fi because i have no need to take my iPad away from home, and if i did, i'd tether to my iPhone

16 gb white ipad 2, it is really very small in capacity, luckily I got myself a 32 gb iphone and moved some apps around and presto! no more storage issues

16GB wifi, I have a Galaxy Note 2 with a big battery so I use mobile hotspot if I can't get free wifi.
