When the iPhone 3G came out there was an unreleased version of the software for the original iphone. I tried to install that software when it came out but it didn't work.

When apple released the official 2.0 for the original iphone i updated it.

i remember reading somewhere that the unreleased one was only meant for the iphone 3G?

im having problems with my phone now and syncing it with my computer and i was wondering if when i tried to install the undreleased version that it might have effected it.

Under settings my phone says: 2.0(5A347)

Is that what version im supposed to have for an original iphone with the 2.0 software?

Yes. Both the Original and the 3G have the same build number, although the shipping one is 5A345.

so version 2.0 creates problems in the original iphones?

I am running version 2.0 (5A347) on my 1G iPhone. I downloaded and installed it on July 11th, the day it was released.

2.0 doesn't create problems unless you downloaded the unreleased version.

Thanks TEG
