Ya, so everyone's talking about it...but what is it?!?
A display that is very glossy.
It's a terrible "feature" that makes your display super glossy and reflective, so that you can see a near-mirror image of yourself and everything behind you while you work, unless you work in a completely dark room with no windows or lamps.
Average people like it because it's shiny - but most professionals do not because, well, it's way too damn shiny.
all the HP laptops have them, or at least all the ones ive seen, it makes the screen look nice, but like mentioned its very non-practical
Yeah, when the screen is off.
They're a lot better than the dull apple displays that they currently use. Yes the HP's are WAY to shiney, but depending on what these look like, Im currently saying good job apple, finally.
my friend has an hp laptop with a REALLY shiny screen, and i actually thought it was a sheet of glass in front of the lcd, and i thought oh that's a good protectant for the screen...but after hearing this, maybe i was just seeing things, and it was just a coating...
The only good thing about a glossy screen is that it protects the LCD.
The bad things about it is that it reflects everything, smudges show up better, and just makes the computer look a bit cheesy.
