According to anandtech's latest test, they are getting much much longer than anyone else in this forum for battery life. Why am i only averaging 5 hrs with no flash and just surfing the internet?

Here is my battery (fresh MBP)

I don't even get 5 hrs with half brightness (which is what they conducted their test at)

Do you time this with an external time source or rely on OS X indicating the time remaining?

I've found that under similar circumstances i consistently get over 5 hours of battery life.

I'll have to check the reference on this but I'm pretty sure battery life has decreased due to Safari.

Try going into get info and check the 32 bit box and see if your battery gets any more time.

I get around 5 while surfing in firefox. Usually just blogs etc.

Edit: personal timeing

The display is kept at 50% brightness, all screen savers are disabled, but the hard drive is allowed to go to sleep if there's no disk activity. The wireless connection is enabled and connected to a local access point less than 20 feet away. This test represents the longest battery life you can achieve on the platform while doing minimal work. The results here are comparable to what you'd see typing a document in TextEdit or reading documents.

Idk where that HDD sleep option is?

my mbp 13" is 2 months old however coconut battery shows its life at %89 :(
isn't that too much? it is at 46 cycles.

I can use it like 3-4 hours but i want to use it more. what should I do. can I get a replacement??
