Long story.
My Macbook Pro has had multiple repairs, and I complained to Steve about it in an e-mail. Mentioning that my Time Capsule was acting up, and that body of my iPods broke. (iPod Video and iPod Touch)
Before being given a replacement, this guy called me over the phone. He took my case over, and he was a snob. He was a big corporate guy who definitely was not down for issuing me any type of replacement.
After talking to several engineers he had call me for 2 weeks, they diagnosed it as a hardware issue. (they repaired it 3 times at that point, and I was told I'd have a replacement if the last repair didn't work, and also the last repair was about a a week before that guy called me.)
So, he said he wants another repair done, and that if it didn't fix the problem he would issue me a refund. Ok, fair enough.
I sent it in for repair, and I got it back. He calls me telling me they fixed the speakers for "customer service" (as if they are going out of their way and doing me a big favor) and pretty much that there was no problem with my laptop and I am making it up. So I'm pretty sure he thought I was just trying to scam apple out of a free laptop.
Anyway, the issues happened again, along with some gray freezing screen that has never happened before, and I went to an Apple Store (because I didn't really want to talk to this guy again) with the problems happening and they issued me a replacement on the spot.
He called me and left a voice mail as a follow up on my laptop, and said he wanted to know more about my other malfunctioning products.
I told him that they issued me a replacement, and I think it secretly pissed him off. He asked me for info about my iPods and "all other Apple products I have" (since I complained about them having problems) except my Time Capsule issue turned out to be because of my last laptop.
Anyway. I gave him all the info and he asked me for all the serial numbers for these devices so he can "research this matter further"
I gave him all the serial numbers (ipods, and Time Capsule) and I asked him how having these serial numbers is going to help him, since they've never been serviced so there would be no note history.
He responded saying thank you for the serial numbers, and that he will contact me after he puts together his "report."
He ignored my question. What could this guy possibly be doing?
A replacement is the last thing this guy ever wants to do, and I doubt he willing to do anything aside what Apple is obligated to.
And on top of that, I think he thinks I lied about a malfunctioning laptop and snagged a free new one.
What do you think he is up to?
