What is better: Powered USB Extender or USB over CAT5?

I need to run an external HD around 20ft away. It looks like I have two options, powered USB or USB over Cat5. What are the pros and cons for both and the ultimate one I should go with?

Is the HD bus powered or will it have its own supply. 20FT is quite a distance, I'd be worried about throughput to a device that far away.

It has its own PS. It will only be used for TM so throughput isn't all that important.

Personally, I'd go for a wireless solution.
