What is Compressor?

In Final Cut Studio... Also, if it's what I think it is, will I be able to compress my ripped DVDs with it?

Compressor is a great tool for taking videos like .DVs and converting them into whatever video files you can think of.

You will not be able to compress ripped DVDs. You need a program like DVD2onex for this.
