What is everyone getting for your new mbp in terms of accessories?

Magic Mouse
Modee Magic Mouse Charger
3 USB cables (Mini, A-B, Apple USB)
An extra power cable for travel
Bag and soft travel case TBD based on new form factor.
(Considering bluetooth headphone or gaming headphones...)
2 Seagate Go drives 500GB
1 16GB Survivor USB Thumb Drive

A new belt as my pants will no longer fit due to not being able to eat after spending all my money on a new MBP.

Just kidding, Interesting thread. I'm eagerly awaiting the refresh as this will be my first MBP and I'm enjoying seeing what accessories people like.

I have a non-unibody 2007 MBP. I used to bring it with me on the road all the time until I got my iPad.
What I got so far for it:
- Portable External HD
- 3D Navigator
- Targus Cooling base with 4-port USB Hub
- Griffin PowerMate
- Wacom Tablet
- Apple USB Keyboard
- Magic TrackPad
- Logitech TrackMan Marble Wireless
- D-Link 7-Port USB Hub
- MagicJack
- Microsoft Presenters Mouse 8000
- combination key lock
- Safeware Accidental Damage / Theft insurance
- Roland USB MIDI interface
- USB to RS-232 Interface
- Additional Apple Remote
- Carrying case
- Seagate GoFlex Desk 2TB FW800 Hard Drive

I had my MBP for almost 4 years, and not a scratch on it. And it's been everywhere, including a woodwork shop.

I clean my display with a crumbled single ply of a paper towel and cold filtered water in circular motion, not too much pressure.

Unibody and glossy displays should be cleaned with a microfiber cloth only to avoid scratching it. Same goes for iPhone and iPad.
I don't use screen protectors on my iPad, only an Apple iPad case, and after 8 months, still no scratches.
I do know some people who tend to point and touch their displays with a pencil or pen, so I keep those people away.

13" Al MacBook accessories:

Incase bag
mini-DP to VGA adapter (for projectors)
Wacom Bamboo tablet
Applecare

I found that this prevents the smudges from the keys on the screen when I close it. I also use it to clean the screen

Silicone Keyboard Cover
Hard Outer Shell Cover
Palm Rests
MacBook Pro 15" Sleeve
Mini DVI to HDMI Cable
Some of those awesome Beats audio headphones
(I don't know if this really counts, but) iPod Classic 160GB

Oh and add these to it:
1TB External Hard Drive
Magic Mouse
Mini-DVI to HDMI Cable

I got 3 things for mine:

1. Incase Neoprene Sleeve Plus - went with this gray/blue one.
2. Wrapsol full-body shield - love this thing, can't say enough good about it.
3. Keyboard cover ($6, ebay) - this is mainly because the keys eventually get that oil sheen on them and it drives me crazy. I realize I may have a disorder, but I don't care. It's why I never owned a BlackBook. I keep them for a month or two and just get a new one when they starting showing wear or fading. I hated the white haze on the moshi kb covers.

1. Laptop case (possibly the Incase 15" Black Coated Canvas one)
2. External harddrive.
3. Maybe a neoprene sleeve
4. Apple Care Protection Plan!!!!

I've gathered quite a list:

Henge Dock
Mini Display Port -> DVI
Razer Mamba
Apple Bluetooth Keyboard
New speakers
USB hub
Tom Bihn Ristretto 13"
Second power cable

I already have 27" external display. Ideally I'm going to replace my desktop windows machine (6-core 2.93 Ghz, 4 gb ram, HD5770) as I hardly do any heavy tasks with it anymore to justify the specs, but I'm still rather concerned if MBP 13" wont get real GPU. Can the Intel GPU handle 1080p on external 27" display?

I was wondering do you guys have pictures of these accessories on your MBP, I'm curious as to how they would look. After reading through this thread I went to look at the post your setup thread, and it seems like everyone has their MBP naked, that or I can distinguish difference. If you guys can post some close up of a before and after picture that would be great.

I'm planning on purchasing my first MBP sometime in summer when OS X Lion gets released so I wouldn't have to pay to upgrade the OS a couple of months down the road. Also like every year Apple offers the free iPod with a purchase of a computer, so I'm waiting for this also.

Here you go.

I definitely won't buy any accessories before it comes out, since no one can know for sure if/what cosmetic changes will be. AFTER it comes out and it's clear what accessories will be compatible, I will get:

- A hard, colorful shell. i'd love a greenish turquoise one! can I get one custom?
-A soft sleeve to protect from impact in black :D
-A rubber keyboard protector to protect from dust and light squirts of water(u never know!)
-A black purse/commuter bag that can fit my new 15" laptop (i have to carry this baby long distances):p
-Maybe one of those screen protector things:cool:

haha this is so overkill

i'm too obsessed.

To Everyone...

Get a 2TB external hard disk so you can use Time Machine.

A backup solution is one of the most important accessories you can get.

Care to share bit more pic?
How does body shield work? Wouldn't it cause mbp to heat up even more?

Here's a link to the thread with my pics and another MR user's pics of the wrapsol installed:

I haven't noticed any increase in heat with mine, no. I imagine if it did, it'd be like 1-2 degrees max. The main reason I prefer wrapsol over invisible shield or best skins ever is that it has a matte finish which looks very much like the original aluminum. Most people don't know it's on until I tell them or show them, and it's kept my MBP 100% scratch-free.

Hey thanks!!!

I guess the reason I started this thread is because I imagine there are lot of impatient people like me who need to order their mbp on first day of release.
Problem is, stuff like shield and screen protector(ok, so lot of people don't like this over their laptop, I understand), you need them before you get your laptop as you want them to remain spotless before you put the shield on...

But definitely also really wondering what others were getting for accessories so that we can share the ideas and compare to see what's good.

this is great. Keep them coming.(but pictures really do help).

i just bought my 13.3 mbp last week and so ive ordered
elago privacy protector
teksure CF skin
"retro" colored apple sticker
incipio lime green feather case
clear speck case ( so i can sticker bomb it and switch between the 2)
CF vinyl palm rest cover
CF trackpad cover
$6 ebay keyboard cover

I have one of these in the gray color from 2 years ago, and use it all the time. Just lay it over the keys before you close the top so that it protects the screen. It's also useful when cleaning smudges off the screen. I don't think any other colors were available when I got mine, but there's quite a choice now. I think you can also get a matching sleeve. :)

I also got a palm rest protector from Power Support usa. It's the same gray color in a faux-suede fabric. It enables me to use a mouse on it and it can be re-positioned if you don't get it on exactly right the first time. Also included is a clear track-pad film that is hardly noticeable.

I'll probably get a notebook case by Incase.
