What is ipad 2 availability like in Apple Stores?

Is it difficult to purchase an iPad 2 from the Apple Brick & Mortar stores in the U.S.?

I mean walking in and actually able to pick one up...or are there still big shortages around the U.S. ?
 
well based on the ship dates on Apple site

I guess it's a hit or miss in the actual stores...
 
I called my local store just now, and they're 'currently out of the day'. Considering that they were selling out before they officially opened, it sounds like it's a little bit better.

I've been told that if you show up at or before opening, you've got a shot at getting AN ipad, if not the one you specifically wanted....

I will be travelling through Houston and Miami soon so I was wondering what my luck would be like spending a week in each city on the stop off's...

It's not difficult to purchase an iPad 2 from the Apple Store as long as the following two conditions are met:
1. They have iPad 2 in stock
2. You have money
