When iTunes tries to update itself it tries to download a package called "iPhone Configuration Utility" or some such. Is it the application that would break iPhone tethering? Somebody mentioned that even without 3.1 firmware, iTunes 9 would try to make tethering annoying to do. I wonder if I can install iTunes 9 without that iPhone Configuration Utility and be safe from iTunes trying to muck with my iPhone settings.
