Things that iOS don't have

Ridiculous humungous screen i.e. Xperia z ultra, I m going for one
Some apps like hacker news that only hv on android

But I still want an ipad for there is no android alternative having apple style hype
And I believe apple offer the best hardware in tablet

I'm not really a big fan of the big screen size trend (the Nexus 4 was about right, the Galaxy S4 I have now feels large), but I'd really like to see an iOS device with:
- Notification light.
- Qi charging
- Better at-a-glance info (not necessarily widgets, but I love DashClock. The new info in the notification center is a start, but loses on flexibility)
- Less reliance on the home button, and more gestures. I like the softkeys and gestures from Android, and having three functions for the iPhone home button is a little much.
- Better support for third-party hooks into the OS. Pebble on Android is awesome. Pebble on jailbroken iOS is awesome. Pebble on iOS is pretty poor. Google added more API support for Notification Listeners in 4.3. iOS... not so much.

Most of my complaints are with iOS as software. I love Apple hardware though, and if I could run Android on an iPhone I'd be pretty pleased.

For my self it is lack of communication between apps. What about you guys?

Nothing at all.

I don't feel like iOS is some sort of default position for which i need justification to deviate from the norm.

I'm a happy HTC One owner. I purchased my phone at a competitive price, on a good tariff, and iOS and iPhone will not be a consideration until such time as I am back in the market for a phone.

Says you........The HTC One and Moto X and..........ok so two flagship phones. So how many Android phones have a SD card? Yeah............thought so. So how many IOS devices have a SD card?
Snark and ignorance, try researching Android and SD cards.

But for the purposes of this thread, you CAN get an Android device with expandable memory, and recent flagships at that. Unless there's an iPhone with an SD card slot out there, Android still clearly wins that point.

Really? I have a 32Gb Sd card in my S4.......the Moto X isn't even really a flagship phone. It is mid range.....then the HTC One.....yeah how are the sales going on that? The S4 WITH a SD card blows it away......do your homework.....

While it does seem like the SD option is dwindling every generation among flagship android phones, no one sane is going to deny that dropping in a 32gb Ultra SD for $35 beats the hell out of paying $100 dollars for every additional memory increment with the iPhone.

I get why Apple chooses the model it does (higher margins, less complicated OS, faster response times, sleeker devices), but still, adding an SD card is one hell of a perk that the iPhone does not have.

It's the hardware not the software

I have moved from Android to IOS quite a few times, but it is chasing the hardware, not the software. Give me a superior phone and I'll jump. I just jumped again from the IP5 to the S4.....and I am eyeing the Note 3!!

OK I will, looking in my Pocket... S4 with a 64gb card... Check. Now other Than Samsung name another current high end Android phone with SD slot. Any Nexus, nope, including my new Nexus 7. Looks like a trend. Again snark and ignorance.

Take a look at this screen and this is why I switched to the Galaxy Note 2.
I loved the screen on my Note 2 when I got it back in January. And I still do, at least indoors. But summer came, here in Arizona. I really don't like how dim the AMOLED screen is in this bright sun. Just wish it was brighter. That is why when I looked at your pic I almost said, "Door number 1!"

However, it won't get me back to iOS as there are other options with Android for something other than AMOLED. Perhaps in a few years AMOLED will be bright enough in the desert sun but not yet (and I ride a bike, and often no shade when I stop to check phone).

Ironically I was thinking of going back to iOS for my next phone. But iOS 7 is making that look very much unlikely. I don't like it. At all. I have been using it on my iPad since the first beta and it is not to my liking. I rarely use my iPad actually. (That is a combination of the large screen on my Note 2 and iOS 7 "feeling" cold and unfriendly.)

Bought a 64GB card for my new S4 - mostly because I felt like I should.

No idea what I'm going to put on it (aside from making it the default location to save photos), so I'm loading up all 6 Star Wars movies lol....

Ya, I can't think of an instance where I'd want to watch movies on my phone but oh well. Music is saved in the cloud, and if I'm outside a connection area, I have my trusty iPod classic.

Really only thing I can think to use the card for is photos, which I suppose is nice as they can add up.

Not keen on running apps from the card....

I have a 32 gig that's almost to capacity with movies, music, emulator games, books, photos, mods, roms etc.

Eventually you'll find something to put on there.

Staples was having a killer sale so it was only $10 more than a 32gb. I have about 12Gb left. Pisses me off, I bought a couple of chromecast, But side loading error stops Google music so I have to unmount the card to stream.

Ya I got mine at Best Buy - they were also having a sale. Got mine for $70 tax included.....

32 GB was on sale for roughly $35.

He won't watch the first three :p lol cheap shot I know (in the interest of full disclosure I'm not a prequel hater).

On the contrary - I'm a huge fan of all of them and can't wait for the next three.....yes, even with Disney making them.

What can I say, I'm a big Star Wars geek .

The thing that irks me about iOS devices is mostly the hardware. It's good for maybe one or two iOS updates before it gets slow enough that you need to upgrade. 512mb of ram and a 1ghz dual core in a tablet released in September 2012? Come on apple. Right now it's good for running iOS 6. But future OS updates are going to kill it. With my android devices I have the choice to get the most advanced hardware out there and OEMs typically don't go out of their way to purposely cripple their hardware. My other complaint is the complete lack of communication of apps. No way could my iPads 100% replace a computer. It just couldn't work. No default apps is also a problem but google has put a bandaid over this with their iOS apps. I love my iPad mini and iPod but I don't think I'll be buying another iOS device for a while.
