what is latest version of osX gatekeeper that would be on systems that have automatic updating turned on?

Critical Updates app (shows current built-in updates of selected security related items in your system) reports that the latest version of GateKeeper is 111 (file date May 12, 2017) as of this date - May 26 2017.

That's weird. I just downloaded this and it says mine is 94 (1) updated on 15/05/2017 (DD/MM/YYYY).

You have Sierra, right?
Restart by shutting down (so the power goes off completely), then boot up again.

Check that version after you restart.
I do have the 10.12.6 beta, but I don't know if that makes a difference in the version number of Gatekeeper.

Yeah, I'm on Sierra. I did the full reboot and it now seems to have updated. Weird!

I'll keep an eye on it (which I can now do with that handy program.)

Yes. It's one reason that you might reboot your system occasionally. That's how you can force some of those internal security updates to... you know, update! 😀

Checked the version of that download that tywebb13 posted, and is the current version that I posted in #2 above - 111

Here is a neat trick to check the version number before installing it:

In the link I gave, change the file extension from .pkg to .pkm.

So now the link becomes

http://swcdn.apple.com/content/down...ds883msggps8aroh0q5o/GatekeeperConfigData.pkm

Now download the .pkm file and open it with textedit.

Inside you will see something like

CFBundleShortVersionString="111"

and 111 is the version number.

i didn't know that was possible. i will use it.

through all of this, I also discovered that you can just look it up as follows:

About This Mac / Overview / System Report / Software / Installations / Gatekeeper Configuration Data.

In fact this way will show you all the times that Gatekeeper has in fact been updated on your system as it keeps the former data as well. Theres records on my system going back to 2015.
