I was curious, what are all of you using for a Mac, and what peripherals to you have hooked to it that you find essential to your own personal Mac experience..

I have an Aluminum iMac 2Ghz, 2GB RAM, 250GB HD, OS 10.5.2
Western Digital MyBook Studio 500GB External Drive (Firewire 800)
Saitek Eclipse II illuminated keyboard
Logitech VX Revolution Wireless Mouse
Apple LaserWriter 16/600 PS via Ethernet
7 port USB Hub
Airport Extreme 802.11n Base Station

I have a fairly large list of things to customize my workplace, but what do you have?
( If you are wondering, I am doing this out of A. Curiosity B. to get ideas about any other peripherals I may want)

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU like Mac OS X; en) AppleWebKit/420.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.0 Mobile/4A102 Safari/419.3)

2.0 core2 duo MacBook 2gig ram
Western digital passport 250gb

I have a ton of stuff on my Mac for photo and video editing, recording my electric guitar (not sure why!) and listening to lossless music through a tube based headphone amplifier. Here goes:

2.66 Ghz Mac Pro with 6 meg of RAM
Inside it I have 1 a TB, 2 - 500 gig, and 1 - 250 gig hard drive
1 - 500 Mb WD External HD
2 - 24" BenQ monitors
Verizon FIOS router hooked up to an Airport Extreme 802.11n Base Station
MS Wireless Comfort keyboard and mouse for Mac
Klipsch iFi speakers
External DAC with a tube headphone amplifier
Sennheiser HD 650 headphones
Brother 5140 laser printer
HP C6180 MFP
DigiTech GNX-3000 (for my electric guitars)
And my new toy, a Canopus ADVC-300 for video capture

About the only thing missing is a TV tuner. This all sits next to my two Windows gaming machines.

Yes it gets freaking hot in my office!

  • MBP15 (Late 2006)/2.33/120GB HD/3GB RAM/Superdrive
  • 23" ACD
  • Plextor PX755-UF via FW400 (it's much faster than the Superdrive)
  • Belkin F5U507 USB/FW Hub - FW to ACD, USB to AEBS via amplified cable
  • Belkin F5L009 Network USB Hub connected via ethernet to Netgear Gigabit switch
  • AEBS 802.11n (100GB switch)
  • Netgear GS605 Gigabit switch to -n AEBS
  • HP DJ6840 (to LAN via 802.11g)
  • 2 x Vantec Nexstar NST-360SU USB/eSATA external drive cases with 300GB Maxtor and 320GB Maxtor drives rescued from my former Windows desktop connected to the Belkin F5U507 via USB (and in turn connected to AEBS as airdisks) or to Sonnet Tempo SATA Expresscard to MBP
  • Epson 1200 flatbed scanner to Belkin F5L009 via USB
  • iPod to Belkin F5L009 via USB
  • JBL Spot speakers (white skins)
  • Apple wireless keyboard and mouse

I have a LaCie 750GB d2 Quadra drive coming that should arrive this Wednesday. It will be partitioned to host bootable clones of the MBP and my MB, and I'll move my photographs over from one of the Vantec drives to it.

I'm still thinking about a 500GB Time Capsule. The disk would serve purely as a target for Time Machine for the two notebook computers and nothing more. I currently have a 3 node WDS with the -n AEBS, a g AEBS, and an Airport Express that is connected to my stereo. If I go with the Time Capsule I'll retire the g AEBS and the Netgear switch, move the -n AEBS to where the g AEBS is, and probably remove the Airport Express from the WDS.

TV is handled by a Slingbox streaming over my LAN.

Attached to my iMac:
-Miglia TVMax
-Newer Tech external HD
-iPhone dock
-Harman Kardon Soudstick speakers
-BT mighty mouse
-Wired apple keyboard (so I could have the number pad)
-Konica Minolta Maxxum 5D cord
-An almost new HP printer with new ink which only shoots out nearly plain white printed pages 😡

Guess thats it. My MB has absolutely nothing attached except sometimes a wired mighty mouse.

iMac 24" 2.8Ghz, 4GB RAM 500GB HDD
Wall mounted with a Peerless articulating arm
Seagate 500GB FW400 drive with a passthru for my mini-DV Cam
#1 USB - Kensington 7 Port USB HUB
Backside 3
- iPod Universal Dock
- Epson Perfection 3490 Scanner
- Wacom Bamboo Tablet
Frontside 4
- Nothing yet (I did have a bunch before I installed the multi-card reader)
#2 USB - Sony 17 in 1 Multi-Card Reader (velcro'd to the back of the iMac by the DVD Slot)
#3 USB - FREE
Audio Out: JBL Spot 2.1 Speakers (with White helmets)

Oh, and I have everything hooked up to a Tripplite UPS, and the Apple bluetooth keyboard (aluminum) and mouse.

P.S. I do have a Targus USB numeric keypad that I "once in a blue moon" hook up.

I have a Windows virtual machine running 24/7. Soon, I will have Ubuntu running in another virtual machine. That leaves me with about 10GB for Mac OS X. In Mac OS, I typically have about 5 to 8 different apps running. I just want to prevent paging as much as possible.

i wish i had a desk. my bed and sofa are my desk, so a memory foam topper and floral comforter 😛

I have a 24" iMac aluminum, 2.8 Ghz, 4 Gb RAM, 750 Gb HDD. I have a wired keyboard (the one that came with my Mac), a Logitech MX-620 cordless laser mouse (with SteerMouse installed), an Iomega 750 Gb external Firewire 800 HDD for back-up, a LaCie Firewire 400 external DVD writer with Lightscribe, and an HP LaserJet P1505 USB printer.
