Is it the Apple that fell on Isaac Newton's head?

Or is it the Apple of the tree of knowledge?

Seeing as there's a bite in the apple, i'm inclined to go with the biblical idea.

    ????????

The bite isn't biblical or a reference to Alan Turing or a computer byte.

Interview with Rob Janoff, designer of the Apple logo:
"I designed it with a bite for scale, so people get that it was an apple not a cherry. Also it was kind of iconic about taking a bite out of an apple. Something that everyone can experience. It goes across cultures."

That blog states that "Apple is probably the only company not to use its name in its logo." Yet, in the link to the same site about the Nike (or McDonalds) logo, it shows it doesn't have it's name either. Poor research skills. :)
