Hey there!!!

Just wondering if there is a better internet browser for mac other than Safari? I'm running a 3.06ghz,750gb HD, 4gb ram, GT8800 iMac

The only problem i have with safari is that it sometimes won't load www.hotmail.com? other than that, im simply just looking for some opinions on different browsers?

Cheers,

Brad

Another of these threads? :p

Try Firefox, Opera, Flock, Camino, et. al. and choose the one you like best.

Use the search and you will find this debated endlessly here.

Good luck!

You'll get faster results if you search the forums first, before posting a new thread, especially for a subject that has been discussed dozens of times already. If you use Google, you'll find all the information you want.

Safari has some issues with Hotmail, and there is a lot of debate as to whether that is Safari's problem or Hotmail's. Either way, there are issues sometimes.

Solution? Gmail  ummmm

I have to use Hotmail for one account
I use Firefox 2 (not 3) for this
Firefox 2 is the only Mac browser I have found that will use LiveMail on Hotmail
You can access Classic Hotmail with FF3 or others, but not Live
I've tried Opera and Camino as well

Good luck!

For me Firefox is the best because of the extensions it offers.

But not everyone needs extensions i use, in that case safari or opera are pretty cool.

opera is good if you have opera mini or opera mobile on a phone. you can sync bookmarks between them.

I dont know why you think something is gonna be better than safari. It is the fastest and cleanest web browser out there that is Safari 3.1. It is faster than IE and Fox. I love it.

don't make decision for others, cause you never know what others might need.:p

Now with Firefox 3 looking incredibly good and being very quick (i've noticed it being faster at loading pages that Safari!), I might start using it over Safari. Also Firefox 3 takes longer to load but uses way less RAM.

Both are very good, just depends on your preference really :)

I prefer FireFox for its plug-ins and better tab handling features.

Safari is attractive since it's a fully integrate OS X application.

Well there's a loaded question...

I tend to flip flop. Right now I am using firefox, in a couple of months though I might switch back to camino, and then later to safari. I like all three.

We have 3 hotmail addresses.

Never had any problem logging in.

Would you mind sharing what happens when you can't load hotmail?

In Safari it'll sometimes bounce around a few Live/Microsoft/MSN/Passport related URLs in the address bar, not showing anything and going on and on and on until you navigate away.

Most of the time it's fine though but I can't say that much because I rarely use it :p

I like safari's minimalistic, out-of-your-way look. Other than that, Firefox 3 is great, I use it as my browser of choice on windows.

I agree Safari to me by far is the best..stick with that:cool:

That's a list of all features. Which one do Apple users pay for? If you're referring just to bookmarks syncing with .Mac (now MobileMe), the .Mac membership syncs a LOT more than just bookmarks, plus has email, your own website, etc. Syncing bookmarks is one small feature of .Mac, which can also be accomplished with dozens of free services out there, so in that regard, Firefox isn't offering something that can't be had free numerous other ways.

Thanks for the feedback.

Does clearing the cache or removing the cookies help in these cases?
