So I just installed a 32gb cf card into my ipod 4th gen greyscale but now I feel I would like to have more battery life on the ipod. So out of question what replacement battery would hold the most charge in my ipod? Regards and happy hollidays everyone!

E-bay is normally where I get my replacement batteries, they normally ship from china/Hong Kong and they normally come as the same mAh capacity as the OEM Apple battery (make sure you get the right battery for your model) although there are 'extended' batteries about for some iPods, I would take the capacity written on them with a grain of salt as they have a habit of writing a higher capacity on the battery than what they actually are while charging you more. But a new battery will be a massive improvement in run time over 12 year old one.

I mean by now though there are all these sites specailizing in making ipod batteries with larger capacities. Possibly are there any custom sites that make custom batteries with large capacities? My friend told me recently that he found one for that stuff (after I asked about a larger storage gumstick for my portable walkman) but he told me he forgot the name of the service.

I've ordered from eBay before, but I don't think I'll do so next time I repair an iPod. I think I'd rather spend 2x and get one from a company I recognize. Just my opinion.

I'm not sure where all these sites making custom batteries are, but most batteries are made by third parties in china. Likewise for people offering a "service" online are most likely using generic batteries.

I've never been able to find known brand batteries for iPods, I've only replaced about 5 iPod batteries all generic no-name brands from ebay, can you tell me where you found yours??

I don't know about *branded* batteries necessarily, but I would start by looking at reputable retailers like iFixit and OWC to see if they have any and then looking for other places I trust. Not saying that doing so would be any better than eBay, just that that is what I plan to do.
