Hi, I've owned logic express in the past but I never really got into it. GarageBand was so beautiful and easy and always ended up sounding better. Hopefully this new version will change that because I have heard it is much more user-friendly. Right? I have been debating between getting a MIDI controller and a regular synth. I've been playing piano for 10 years and that will be the main focus, but I do like the idea of having a trigger pad because I am also a drummer. Some synth functions would be nice too. I want to use the keyboard for both recording and live shows. If I got the controller I would obviously have to bring my laptop to gigs to play, but I don't think that would be an issue. So, unless anyone would advise otherwise, I think I'm going to go with a controller. These are the two controllers I'm looking at. If you've had experience with either please let me knoew how it went. Do they integrate well with logic - especially the Axiom? My budget is up to $400. Any other recommendations besides these? I also use the M-Audio 25, its a great controller, very reliable and light weight. If you have the space I recommend going for the 61 key.
