256 GB, factory unlocked? I don't want to sell on ebay or craiglist.

I'd appreciate recommendations for where I can get the best value?

Thank you!

I have found Experimax to pay a fair price for previous iPhone and a MacBook Pro. They are franchised so the amount may not be same at each location. They pay immediately and you won't have to ship. However, it sounds as if you are wanting to sell person to person. Good Luck

I actually do not want to sell person to person. I am interested in selling to a company. And was wondering where I would get the best value?

Try Gazelle. Also if you’re interested in a trade in a lot of the carriers are giving more on trade in that you may be able to sell it for.

Macmeanoffer.com. I have dealt with them several times. They honor their quote if you are honest with condition and they pay quickly either by check or PayPal. They also pay shipping.

If you were open minded I would recommend Facebook marketplace only because of my recent experience. I sold my iPhone 11 Pro Max 256gb for 900$, yesterday. I had the original box and all the unused accessories like the charging brick and headphones.

You can try Mercari or Swappa, you don't meet people there, they pay and you ship, money is released once they receive phone. Mercari has their own payment system which is tied to your bank account, Swappa uses PayPal so that just goes into your account when they pay

Swappa you can probably get 850 for it. I have the same phone but I don't wanna deal with selling phones.

Those fees are crazy lol.

OP doesn’t want to sell person to person which is what Swappa is.

Companies would low ball heavy but if seller is okay with that then go for. I would consider just trading in for credit for the new phone you want.

Some people have zero desire to socialize/network with new people. I drove for Uber for about a year a long while ago. Once you continually expose yourself to something once uncomfortable it becomes less and less so. Someone said in another thread that apples trade in program is a “gentle scam”. I agree. No way I would accept only 500 credit for my 11 pro max. I sold for 900 and that properly Subsidizes my upgrade to the 12 pro max. But I understand taking the path of least resistance

Too late now, but from my previous experience you get the highest price if you can sell 2-4 weeks before your Apple Care expires. This way it gives the buyer insurance that if there is something wrong with the phone, Apple will fix it. I've used this method every year since the 3G came out. However, to do this, you have to have a backup phone that you can slip you sim in until you get the new model. I use my old 6S for about a month and it makes me appreciate the new model when I receive it.

I've used both Swappa and eBay, but eBay's fees are higher. This is the first year that I didn't get the new model on opening day. It looks like the local Apple stores in the Portland area have plenty of stock for the midrange 12 so I might bop in next week and get one. On both Swappa and eBay, you might try asking a high price. You probably will get offers for less than your asking price, but you can turn an offer down unless it matches your asking price.

That is true. Even selling to Apple will get you a very low quote. At the same time, it removes the worry and stress for a lot of people about individual sake fraud and safety.

Swappa is a dumpster fire. There is literally no protection for sellers. I’ve been screwed over twice there, will never use them again.
A buyer has my phone for 3 months now and he filed a unauthorized charge against the purchase and the bank is in contact with paypal. Keep in mind he bought the item and SIGNED FOR IT now he's trying to get his money back.

Hillarious how many scammers there are out there, a big reason I am so done with the gadget stage in my life.

And swappa doesn’t protect sellers from scammers. They just sit back and collect fees and allow people to rip you off.

I've sold 2 iPhones and 2 iPads on Swappa with absolutely no problem. Trade-in's to Apple are a bit of a rip. AFAIK, you can always get more from selling verses trading in. That said, about 2-3 months ago I had an IP6S that was having some problems. My policy is to never sell any electronic item that has problems without full disclosure. At that time, the 6SE's were selling for $100-$150 on eBay. Instead, I took the phone to an Apple Store to trade in for the latest SE.

My salesmen looked the phone over pretty closely (I think he might have even taken it to the backroom) and then he offered me $70 on a trade-in which I took in a NYM.

I've sold over 40 something devices and bought a lot as well on swappa over the last 6 years or more. Never had an issue. I've always made sure to only buy from those that have good feedback and sell to those that have a history too and not any that are new... You can deny a sale to those.

Decluttr.com is giving me $639 for my 11pm 64gb. More than anywhere else I’ve found. Just traded in my  watch with them to test them. Quick payment through PayPal. Only pain is you provide your own box.

gazelle.com or buybackworld.com. I've used both and prefer buybackworld over gazelle. I've had issues with Gazelle before and even had to use BBB in order to get them straight. I still got the trade in value from them but after that I started using buybackworld
