Hi, for older MBP bought 10+ years ago, I used iKlear bought from an Apple Store. It does not seem to be very effective in cleaning the screen of the MBP 16". Has Apple changed the screen coating since then? Is it a good idea to continue to use iKlear bought many years ago? What is the best way to clean it? Even my laptop bag is much bigger than the laptop, I see marks on the screen probably from the keyboards. I also need to remove fingerprints (yes, some people keeps touching my screen as if it were a touch screen) and saliva marks.

Although many users prefer not to use screen protectors, I found this to be an excellent product for my 2012 and 2015 MacBook Pros. I removed it five years later and the display was as-new. I often work in dusty studios and despite what anyone else may think, this is the best solution for ME because constantly cleaning the display would lead to fine scratches and the AR coating failing.

There was no coating 10 years ago.

There is a very fragile anti reflective coating today.

Touch the screen as little as possible.

To clean it, don't waste money on chemicals. You just need a damp lint free/microfiber, and use the lightest possible pressure to clean spots as needed.
