What is the Bus Speed on the New MP?

Anyone know what the bus speed is on the New 8 core MP?
Also...
Is the ram generic, or specific to the apple? Can I buy the ram elsewhere, and what brand?

1600MHZ, 64bit dual independent buses.
Sound right?

What about the RAM....is it generic, or specific to the MP? I want to get RAM aftermarket, not sure what kind for these puppies.

The part of interest to you being "1600MHz, 64-bit dual independent frontside buses"


As to the ram, places like crucial sell ram that is mac pro compatible, while it's not specific to the mac pro it's not the same ram you'll find in the average desktop PC, just high end work station and servers 🙂

I got mine from OWC
