I think I caught a break here. I ordered on Crutchfield and used a refer-a-friend referal code p6vpi-1szsk-bjxki. It didn't seem to work at first but after I placed the order I got a confirmation e-mail with the following amount:

- No Shipping
- $20 off retail price

Pretty great!

You probably mean 288 right? I got it for 279 without having to do rebate stuff.

Both good prices though. Only Macmall you have to pay tax, Crutchfield you don't.

I see countless posts on many message boards where people are posting their codes BAITING others to use the code to get a discount, when INSTEAD the poster is getting their discount!

I figured the refferal link.. and as said by the person above me (KIBU) it worked. I got the email from Crutchfield and my total amount is $279 .. Though I understand ,that the referred person would also earn $20.. which is fine for me as long as I pay 20 less than the original amount.

This is not true. How else could I have paid just $279 and not $299? Unlike most sites, at Crutchfield the friend gets a discount and you get $20 credit (on >$200 order) for referring. Oh yeah, and I think NY residents like me are exempted, so I won't get anything.

I bought a broken mini off of ebay for $5 shipped and plan to use this for $30 off of the new 32gb Touch. Did the same thing last year also.

For those in the US willing to wait until Black Friday, some stores will probably be giving away gift cards ($30-$50 last year) with the purchase of a touch (8GB & 32GB models last year).
