I am thinking about dropping my iphone data plan and just running my iphone as a tmobile gophone. what is the cheapest way to drop att?

Pay the $175 early termination fee.

Unless you can find some way to have that waived, it's gonna be that much (unless you JUST signed up for a plan, in which case it might be $10 less or so).

hmph... well if thats the only way I might still do it because I will probably save that much in the first 3 months

is there a way to drop the data plan but still keep your sim/cell number?

Cheapest way is to technically start a plan without the data plan.

Then unlock the iPhone.

Other than that, I think the termination fee is the one...unless the AT&T ppl are nice and they waive it.

To lower your monthly fee while retaining AT&T, take your phone bill into an AT&T Mobile retail store and ask to change to a "retention" plan. You get fewer air time minutes and perhaps another restriction for $10 less. An existing plan must be in place for this rate; as the name implies, it is offered to retain current customers.
