I want a browser that is extremely fast and I don't care at all about special features or customization. As long as it has bookmarks/favorites, saves passwords correctly, and is extremely fast, I'm OK with it.

I use Chrome in OSX, but what is the best one for XP? Thanks.

While Ars Technica did their latest browser speed tests on Mac OS X and Windows 7, the results might translate to Windows XP. They found that the latest versions of both Chrome and Opera were faster than Safari 5. Some results are at least a bit questionable, though. Firefox lagged shamefully behind. Internet Explorer 8 fared even worse. Internet Explorer 9 shows great promise, although it's still behind most competitors.

Conclusion: Chrome 5 is the fastest browser on any platform, followed closely by both Opera 10.53 and Safari 5. Choose whichever you like best.
