What is the future of the 4 inch iPhone?
Think iPhone 5 and iPhone SE.

Is this size of phone dead in the water as a base entry level now and soon to be discontinued or do you think Apple will actually upgrade the internals of the SE to something better?

Personally I'm a little sad that Apple is not giving this size of phone much love. A lot of people liked the SE for it's size. So what's your opinion on all of this?

Eventually... probably. I could see Apple making an edge-to-edge one with a larger screen to replace that eventually, but if the numbers show most people aren't buying the SE anymore then they might just kill the smaller screen size, as phones seem to be getting ever-larger.

I really hope not, they would be foolish to drop the 4inch form factor. I bought my iPhone 6 on launch day and have hated the size, the stupid protruding camera, I mean, the phone doesn't even lay flat, stupid design, the two handed use and the fact that its so damn slippery. I will not be updating to the latest phones as they just seem to be getting bigger and bigger and far to expensive.

Probably like how Apple PR described the Mac mini, "it's a product in our lineup"

In all seriousness, it'll probably get internal updates and remain in the line to hit the low price point.

I was more surprised that the iPhone 6S is continuing on. They've never had four "generations" of phone available before. I figured they would retire the 6S, and leave just the SE as the 4", the 7 as the "previous gen" for the bigger sizes, and the 8/X as the current-gen. An hour ago, the iPhone page had "iPhone 7, iPhone 6s, iPhone SE" just three options. Now it has "iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPhone 7, iPhone 6s, iPhone SE" - FIVE options. (Plus the "plus" models of three of those.)
