Just wondering what the largest hard drive I can stick in a Tangerine iBook. I would think 128 GB because of the limitations on the addressing? I was thinking about installing a enormous hard drive on mine!

I put a 40 GB disk in my clamshell. So go ahead, try it out ;)

There is a height limitation on the hard drive, it must be 9.5mm, some laptop hard drives are 12.5mm.
from this thread.

Here's a nice guide to help you trough.
They do list a 120 Gb drive as a possible upgrade for the clamshell.

Good Luck

There are three ways to circumvent the 128 ceiling:

1. install a PCI adapter that will read the space (not an option in ibooks, obviously)

2. Buy an external drive.

3. http://www.speedtools.com/ATA6.shtml -- This says "All G3s", so I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work with a Clamshell.

Good luck! Let us know how it turns out...
