I couldn't get a reservation either and kept getting the same "service unavailable message". By the time it started working the 6 Plus 64GB was sold out in every colour and in every Apple store in Ontario.

I'll be lining up early next Friday but I would like to know if the stores will have any stock above what has already been allotted for the reservations.

Apple is hoping pre-orders will mitigate the insane lines on launch day, but it didn't seem to help much with the 5s at major metro stores. I got my 5s on launch day after only a 20 minute wait in line. But at stores in NYC the lines were around the block and started days before. Crazy!

Yeah, but i just spoke to a few Apple Retail employees and they said the 6 Plus will be in very limited quantities, a lot of them are reserved for pick-up.

Looks like i'll be camping overnight. What time are you guys starting?

5am here

I've had a lot of luck in the past getting both new iPhones and iPads on release day. I got the iPhones from AT&T and usually just got there right around opening time. Near me, the line was short (no more than 15 people). That's one benefit of not living near a densely populated urban area

The iPads I got from Target. At the time, someone came across a link to check inventory online, so I found a couple of stores near me that had them in stock. I remember getting them from a Target in a mall which also had an Apple store. I walked right into the Target, got the iPad, and walked out through the mall and past a line of 30+ people waiting outside an Apple store. I felt sorry for them.

I've been debating whether or not I should drop AT&T for Verizon, but I'm still on an old family plan with unlimited data on two of our phones, so I'll probably just keep it simple and stick with AT&T. If I decide for sure before Friday, I'll probably get up Friday morning and try to get to the AT&T store around 7am. If there's a crazy huge line, I'll just drive back home. You have to decide what your time is worth. For me, getting to a store 1 hour early is cool, but getting there at midnight the night before? No way.

I've looked on the Apple Store site for all 3 Plus sizes for reserved pickup and checked every store in the SE US. Not one available. Think lots of people are going to be unhappy on Friday. Glad I got up at 3 AM last Friday and put in my pre order.

Hey guys, so after speaking with an Apple specialist i've decided against lining up. It's approximately 7PM here, and there are already 60+ people in line. People had started lining up since 1PM, there is no way I'm camping out for 12 hours in the cold weather for the 6 Plus.

I'm considering pre-ordering it now (it says 3 to 4 weeks shipping) or waiting until my local Apple Store gets some in stock within the next few days.

What do you guys suggest I do? I'm planning on getting the Space Gray 64GB iPhone 6 Plus

Your best bet is ordering and waiting the 3-4 weeks. Who knows when your apple store will get stock or if you can get there before others if they do get stock.

Yeah I think you're right, i'm leaning towards that, it's the most certain. But i wanted them to switch my SIM without any costs as i'm upgrading from a 4S, but if i preorder then i have to buy a nano SIM, bah.

Yea 60+ people already in line is crazy. Imagine when the store opens tomorrow. BGR is reporting that the stock stores are getting, only 2-3% are iPhone 6 Pluses. A lot of those people waiting in line are gonna be disappointed.

Order it right now on apple.com. And then go in the mornings before the store opens and wait in line. If you're one of the first, I'd be willing to bet that you'll have one by next Tuesday at the latest.

So you're saying I should order it now just to be safe? And then wait in line before the store opens in the mornings, hoping they have the model I want in stock?

That sounds like the best choice right now actually.

Do you guys think Apple will reopen their reservation system after tomorrow?

Also guys what if the iPhone that i get shipped is damaged? Are there any reports of damaged iPhone pre orders?

Am i better off visiting the store daily and hoping they have the model i want in stock?

Total crap shoot with this year's models. Lines have already formed and the mall is the "most" desired by the masses. Buuuut nothing beats a failure but a try.

No chance for me. There were about 70+ people lining up when i checked at 5pm. My 6+ should arrive next week so I'm good.
