what is the likely trade-in value after 24 months for the current Mac Mini M1 8gb 256gb?

$350, $300 or $200? (trading in directly on Apple's own website)

Typically, it’s about 1/3 of the selling price, but there are times when a specific device is in demand like the iPads were last year. In November or December 2020, Apple increased the trade-in value for iPad Pros. I jumped on it and traded in my refurb 2018 12.9.

Keep in mind that the trade-in value quoted goes down pretty quickly too. If you look at the trade-in value as soon as your device is eligible to trade, and then look again a month or two months later, it will likely be lower.

You’ll always get more for your device by selling outright on a site like Swappa, or doing trades with reputable vendors like CashForYourMac.com and MacMeAnOffer.com.

I agree with using a trade in at 3rd party. I use MacMeAnOffer which is the buying arm of MacOfAllTrades. I have gotten just what they quoted from them based on the condition of the device. They are picky, but if you take care of system, retain original packaging, etc. you should get a good price

Thanks! I'll keep that company in mind in case I want to trade it in two years from now.

The do offer decent prices. $230 for a 2014 Mac Mini with i5... or $420 for a 2018 Mac Mini.

Although... the 2020 Mac Mini M1 I just bought was only $599 from Costco, so I'm happy if I get only half that in 2 years.(around $299 seems fair for trade-in price on a 2 year machine)
