Hi everyone,

I thought it might be fun to start talking about old Apple Watches you still regularly use and share your experience.
It might even be a good reference for others to see how old apple hardware fares over the years.

I will start myself :

- apple watch series 4 ( gps only) - bought new 1 week after launch
- iPhone SE OG - bought new about 1 month after launch.

For this to work the Apple Watch is stuck running watchOS 8, iPhone is updated to latest available iOS version, 15.8.8.
The watch is still on its first battery and is nowadays at 88% health with about 510 cycles.
Battery life is - as you might imagine- not good, depending on my usage I have to charge it twice a day.

I used this watch every day for at least 5 or 6 years from ( more or less) 8 AM to 8 PM, it has scratches everywhere but has never failed on me. Nowadays I still use this combo from Friday to Sunday every week, for the rest of the week I have another more modern iPhone / Apple Watch combo.

I would say this combo is probably the best piece of technology I have ever bought.

What about you ?

Thanks.

I'm not sure if this fits your definition of "regularly use," but I use a series 6 as my sleep watch. I can tell it wouldn't be satisfactory for regular daily use because the battery is too weak.

Series 4 stainless steel on watchOS 10.6.2, bought at launch as well. I opted for the battery replacement service once, and now the battery health is 82% now. I can get through one whole day and still have a good amount left over.

This watch is paired with an iPhone XR that was a hand-me-down maybe one year after its release, and it currently is on iOS 18.7.9.

Watch SE (1st generation) -- my first Apple Watch, in fact. Purchased Oct. 20, 2020, I think.

The watch is still on its first battery and is nowadays at 88% health with about 510 cycles.
Figuring an average of two days per (full) charge cycle, the math ( 5.75 x 365.25 / 2 ) would estimate my SE has at least 1000 charge cycles.

I'm thinking it will make it another year or two before I feel battery capability will fall to a retirement level.

Well, I bought an Ultra 3 last September and then upgraded my spare SE2 to an SE3 in June after learning that the SE2 was not getting watchOS 27, so I guess it's the Ultra 3.

I use my S6 when charging my U2.. Still works great and although it won't receive WatchOS27 I will continue using it until it dies or trade it in for a new version

My series 3 from 2017 is still flawless. Buttons are clicky, no issues.

I use my SS series 8 though when I wear an Apple Watch. Works fine no issues. Battery is getting down there a bit.

I have two Ultra 2 watches, still at 100% battery capacity. When one needs charging, I wear the other. Each one lasts 3 days. I have no plans to upgrade one the next year or two.
