If they made an white macbook with a i3 and 1400x900 display I'd get it in a heart beat.

I noticed how similar the MB and 13 MBP were when I purchased my Macbook a little over a year ago, and it makes Apple's computer lineup look a little silly.

Still, the Macbook is a VERY good seller, and I see them almost everywhere at my college, so Apple must be doing something right.

It's possible that with a few more upgrades and reductions in price, the Air could replace the Macbook entirely, but maybe Apple likes having an 'entry level' model in their lineup too much to replace it.

i mean 13inch mbp is only a little more expensive than a macbook + better in many regards than the macbook ? also with air becoming more "mainstream" .. can't see macbook hanging around for too long

thoughts?

WELL I know my school uses them and budgets are tight.. The specs probably dont matter to them and the lower price does :)

If anyone remembers the late run of the Aluminum MacBook (which is now pretty much the 13-inch MBP)...hahaha.

Personally, I would love to just see a price drop down to at least 799$ if not more. Maybe add in a Core i3 or at least the option for one, and PLEASE, BRING BACK THE BLACK!!!

well, first thing to ask before they bring back the black is to bring back the white...
yes, they are selling it, but they are selling a model which is almost 2 years old lol.

MBP is still 200 bucks more expensive than the MB, and MBA has no kensington lock which makes it unusable e.g. in the chemistry department where my laptop sits.

now the MB i gone....

Nice bump; but it's funny going back and reading all of the wrong posts (including mine in another topic) about what they were going to do with the MB.

I was convinced they'd lower the price or just up the specs in a refresh.

and remember all the "Resurrection of the Black Macbook!?!" posts? Good times.
