I'm with ya...BUT, @ the time, there was no App Store, no HD Video...and 4GB could easily hold 750 songs with a bit o' room to spare. @ the time...it wasn't such a 'bad' deal! (That said, my wife and I bought the 8GB models;))

No video recording period. It took crappy quality 2MP photos and couldn't even do MMS, so no worry about deleting texts to free up space. You basically had 3GB+ for songs and some HVGA movies/TV shows.

No such thing, 4S was the first Iphone to appear on Sprint, or was this a joke?
I believe that although Sprint didn't get to carry iPhones until the 4S was released, at the time they also got the cheaper/smaller 4 version to sell as well, in addition to the 4S.

hi could you shed any light on the value of this iPhone i have. it is in immaculate condition it has never been used or fully unpacked.
any info you could give me would be much appreciated
Thank you

I remember the lack of MMS. :) It wasn't actually that big a deal yet, because a lot of other phones also didn't do MMS or did it badly (I know my Treo didn't), but thankfully Apple finally implemented it before the lack of it became embarrassing.

The original iPhone didn't really appeal to me AT ALL. You could only get it on AT&T in the US, it didn't have installable apps (even my circa 2005 Treo 650 did!) and was comparatively limited in what it can do. It wasn't until the iPhone 4 came out in 2010 that I wandered into an Apple Store, picked one up, my jaw fell directly to the floor from seeing the retina display and I bought one there and there, even incurring a Sprint ETF to do so.

The retina display is what sold me. It was up to that point the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen, technology-wise.

While we could obtain sales data, it would be nearly impossible to determine how many of each model are sitting unused in storage, were thrown away, or recycled.

There is one clear way to settle this question:

Place an advertisement on every site worldwide with an offer to buy any and all iPhone models for 10 million dollars each. Then sit and wait, and see which model is offered for sale the least often.

A bit of a hassle. But probably the most scientific method available to answer such a question.

Might make a few people mad along the way :p
