I upgraded to iOS 12 last night. I noticed this little bar below the battery percentage in the upper right corner of the lock screen. Anyone know what it is for??

It was in iOS 11 as well on last year's X. I assume you shot above is last year's X since the new ones don't come out until Friday.

i seriously hate this black & white bar on iPhone X - it's really annoying, i cant find the option how to get rid of it.

i have iPhone X but it does show any apps I'm not sure about other model.
I have an iPhone X too. It does not show in any apps. I’d love to see a screenshot of it in an app. If you really do see it inside apps then there must be a setting to turn it off, because I only see it in the lock screen.

Doesn't it also disappear after some time and/or use of the Control Center?

That's often one of the big reasons for people to include what device is in question given that there's a decent enough variety out there to make a difference.

Then I must be one of the later iPads. I don't see it on my iPad Air.
Or it could be like it is for iPhone X in that it doesn't really show there all the time and/or for everyone (perhaps depending on usage), if I recall correctly.

Doesn't seem to on iPads now. Its been on my iPad Mini 4 for all the iOS 12 betas (well other than the early ones with the cellular dots there instead) and doesn't go away.

I was wondering what it was yesterday. I have to swipe from the very top corner now to bring up the control center but this line just made little sense. Can’t swipe from it or anything. Glad somebody knew!

That is so weird. I have two iPhones and two iPads. The small bar only appears on the lock screen, not anywhere else.
