R RabidMacFan macrumors 6502 Oct 23, 2020 #5 It will turn on when the scene is dark. It tells you how long you should hold the phone steady for to get a good shot. If you tap it, you can adjust it from 1 to 3 seconds, depending on how much extra light you want to add to the shot.
